win32/parite virus - what does it do?

I have hundreds of files infected on my PC with the win32/parite virus
(serves me right for not installing a virus checker!). I've looked on the
net for a decent definition of the virus but have not been able to find out
exactly what it does and how it is harmful. Can someone give me more
information on this virus and how to remove it?

if you found a definition and still don't know what it does then you
didn't find a very good definition...

So other then attaching itself to another file it does bugger all. Well, I
guess it would start to hog up a lot more space on the hard drive if it
infected enough files.

It took Google exactly 0.34 seconds to come up with 2,080 results for
win32/parite. If you cant find your answer there then I would think it isn't
there to be found.
