Win2k Reload and dynamic disk

John

I have a system that is configured with 4 20 gb drives.
The C:\ drive is a 8gb partition using basic disk. The D:\
drive is 72gb and configured with dynamic disk. If I
reformat the 8gb basic disk and reinstall the os will my
data be ok on the d:\?
I know the "theory" but has anyone done it sucessfully?
Thanks

Are you sure that one of your disks is basic? You do have four 20GB disks,
where one contains C: (8GB), and probably also a part of D: (72GB). In
order to set this up, you would need to convert all your disks to dynamic,
else D: would be 60GB.

Reinstalling on dynamic disks, and deleting/recreating a volume during
this, is one of the most common reasons why people loose data from dynamic
disks.
