win2k policy login scripts

howdy everyone. i've written a few login scripts for our
users here. we're running win2k servers and i put
policies so that a login script will run for certain users
to map their home drives. script works fine, but doesn't
run on nt4 clients. any idea on how to get scripts/policy
to run on nt4 boxes? thanks. cheers!

Hi Adrian,

Group policies will not run on downlevel clients
(95/98/NT). The easiest way to execute login scripts for
users using these operating systems is to copy the login
scripts to the Netlogon share and manually put the
filename in the profile\login script field of their user
accounts.

Hope this helps,

J,
thanks. yea just as i figured. i guess i was looking for
a workaround being that fact that i don't want to sit here
and edit each user's profile. thanks. cheers!

if the nt active directory is like w2k, you could script changing all/some
of the users logon path in active directory.

Sorry, I am no longer including my e-mail address as I am getting to much
spam. I really have no desire to enlarge "it" by three inches, that is even
if I get e-mailed 10 times a day from different e-mail addresses so I can't
block it.
Besides I finally came to believe what others have said, if you have a
question, you should ask the group as others might benefit from it. Anyone
on the group who I converse with off topic or on the side, can easily find
my e-mail address.
