win2k only recognizing 127GB of my 160GB drive

I followed the instructions to upgrade my BIOS to
recognize 48bit LDA, upgraded win2k to SP4 and added the
registry entry EnableBigLba=0x1, rebooted, but win2k still
registers my 160GB drive as 127GB only. The BIOS detects
it as 160 so that part worked fine.

Any ideas how to troobleshoot this? Thanks.

If you formated prior to reg change you will have to reformat or create a
new partion wth the unused space and format that. Check Computer
Management/Disk managment

If W2K only recognised 127GB before, then it formatted only 127GB before. You
have about 33GB of free unformatted space.

You can extend the C: partition to use this free space, or use it to create a
D: partition. (Read the Help.) There are several advantages to the latter
course - eg, you can use D: data back-up partition, and when (not if, sadly)
W2K screws up the next time, the odds are D: will be untouched, and any data
on it will be safe. NB: if you create the D: partition, the CD-ROM/etc drive
letters will change. You can assign new drive letters to D: and subsequent
partitions if you want, but I find no real advantage to doing that.
