I seem to be having a problem where win2k hangs on restart. It boots fine but
on restart I just get a black screen.

It is a fresh install with all the service packs and updates. I have a PCI
ATI rage video card a AMD 2600+XP cpu and a WD80 GB hard rive and CDRW on a
seperate cable.

I do not have it in HIbernate.

Any ideas appreciated, it is driving me nuts.
Thanks

Try a safe mode boot and check Event Viewer for errors.

Here is a copy of my event viewer. I flushed it then restarted the computer.
It makes little sense to me.

Now in the event viewer it says there is an error in the service controll
manager and DCOM.

Anyone know what this means and how to fix it.
Thanks

Seems your network adapter is not working correctly. This article may help.
