Win2k Freezing at certain things

I have a new system i loaded 2k onto. I know the software
is good and not corrupted. When i go to use IE and go to a
site other than my home page or i go to download anything
The entire system frezes.
It also happens when i put in a cd that has to install
something ( Everquest ) .

Any idea why this is happening. All hardware was tested
and is not giving any errors to the guys at Fry's.
 
Check out your services in administrators tools and make sure that RPC is
running. Install a different OS on that computer and then tell us what
happened.
