WIN2K Cluster Administrator Error 1721

P

Peter Weischer

Hello,
I am running a MSCS Cluster on W2K Adv. Server SP4 and I have the problem,
that I cannot start the Cluster Manager on one cluster node. When I try to
do that, I always get
'An error occured trying to open the cluster at 'geabc': Not enough
resources are available to complete this operation. Error ID: 1721
(000006b9).
Both cluster nodes are the same hardware (4* XEON 1.7 GHz, 2 GB RAM each).
On the other cluster node, I do not have any problem to start the cluster
administrator or to administer the cluster resources. I am also able to
start cluster resources on that noe, where the cluster administrator fails.

Any idea?

Thanks

Peter

Have you limited the RPC ports on one node? Error 1721 = Not Enough Reources are available to complete this operation. Check the registry per the
following article.

Do you get the same error if you connect to the node via
terminal services?
Sounds like a local corruption of the files on that node.
If all goes well via TS, can another local/domain user
open the application?
Can you add the cluster admin mmc to a custome mmc?
