I have had an on going issue with a PC. When it boot, the windows 2000 flash
screen comes up, the progress bar gets about half way across and the
computer reboots in an endless cycle. I've tried to get into safe mode but
it does the same thing. I can get into DOS mode via a 98 boot disk to rule
out hardware or power issues and no shut downs. Because of time
constraints, I end up reinstalling the Win 2K and the problem is resolved.
This is the third time it has occurred in less than a year. At this point I
am not sure what is the issue and don't know how to trouble shoot the
problem. Any help would be appreciated

But after reinstalling the pc it works fine?
Have you installed always the same drivers for the hardware?

Yes, I have not added any different drivers than what Win 2K installs. The
only things that changes is the security updates. I take the default
settings from the reinstall, install SP4 and do the security updates. ( no
driver updates). I have not changed any hardware to the PC either..

I'm sorry, i have no further ideas to help you :-|

What he was saying was that if after a reinstall it works fine are you later
installing any drivers, which then terminates the sys,?

What tools or apps could I use to see if the win 2k is corrupt or access any
info from the OS?
