Win2000 won't enable HP DeskJet 722C printer

astillwell

Recently, I upgraded from Windows 98 to Windows 2000. The
transition went pretty smoothly except that now my HP
DeskJet 722C printer does not function, even though it is
listed on MS's hardware compatibility list. The message I
read under Resources when browsing in Device Manager is
that the printer is not enabled because the firmware does
not provide enough resources.

Most grateful for any help offered.

have you tried removing the vid & pid keys under hkey local
machine system currentcontrolset and enum usb and they are
there remove them it will detect new hardware. also if
thats doesnt work for plug n play than go to the next key
under it and it should be usb print and delete the deskjet
from there
