Hi everyone. I've the following network situation:
- 1 win 2000 sp4
- 1 win 2000 sp3
- 2 win ME
- 1 win 98
The machines are in the same workgroup (no domain
controller, only sharing files between machines)
The problem is that the win 2000 sp4 machine is really
slow in browsing (and copying files) the win ME machines
(and viceversa). With the win 2000 sp3 and win98 everything
is fine.
I've searched a lot (also in this group) and tried some
solutions found around (the last one has been, but
without any success, the Tcp1323Opts registry key) but
I'm at stuck point now...my last option is to try
reinstalling the machine. Can I avoid it ?
Is there any other fix to try ?
I would like, but unfortunately cannot, upgrade the
win me machines to win 2000.

Regards, Sandro

Hey sandro, try putting your local DNS server to the 2000
machines I have seen this in the past and it worked.

Jesus.
