Win2000 Logon to Domain failure

Attempting to join a new laptop to a domain, but receive
the following error message:"Logon Failure: The directory
service was unable to allocate a relative identifier".

Can anyone help?

Mahendra,

It looks like you are having a problem with the RID Master ( one of the five
FSMO Roles - this one is responsible for handing out RIDs ).

Take a look at Jerold's tip and make sure to go to the MSKB Article linked
at the bottom of Jerold's tip.
