Win2000 - Defragment Problem

F

Fred

I've been attempting to Defragment my Windows 2000 desktop but am
having problems. The defragment process seems to go fine but after
I'm done, the utility still stays it needs defragmented. I'm using
with Defragment utility built into windows.

I've run the process 5 or 6 times with always the same result. It
takes 2-4 hours to run. I have an 80 gig hard drive with approx 20
gig free.

Any suggestions?

thanks
Fred

Use the print file button
Go to the files to see if any can be deleted.
Also the defragmenter can be used several times in succession to get cloder.
Don't worry, if there are a few left, even if they are several megs. It
doesn't take any more space; it's just harder for the computer to find the
fragments.
