I hava a win 2k machine and on my other(xp) machine I have a disk with some
data (disk partitioned by xp)
when i place it into my 2K machine it says that the disk needs to be
formatted ?
I have all the latest SP any Idea?

I saw this problem when going from Windows 2000 to Windows 98. I could read
the disk fine on the 2000 PC, but the 98 one kept giving me the format
message you're getting. All I did was format the disk in 2000 then put the
stuff back on the disk. After that the 98 PC could read it fine. I'm not
sure if it will help you out, but hopefully it'll take care of it.

That's normal, the disk was probably formatted as NTFS and Win98
would'nt have been able to read it, hence the format message.
