For what ever reason, Win2000 reboots / restarts maybe 10-
20 minutes upon launching. There is no evidence of virus,
etc.

Is this a win2000 issue, hardware, etc issue?

Any suggestions?

Thanks much.

I have had a reboot when shutting down, make sure that you
don't have any hardware compatibility issues. Also make
sure you are running a good version of any cdrw burn
software. You may want to check your power supply also.

I had a similar problem. I ran Winnt /checkupogradeonly
and all seemed fine. However, I had random reboots during
installation and thereafter. Turns out my motherboard did
not support Win2k. I replaced it and my RAM and CPU and
voila! Issue resolved. Make sure yo8u check the HCL and
the maufacturer's websites of all your hardware to make
sure they're all compatible. Hardware issues often cause
quirky systems like yours and mine! ☺
