Win XP won't let go of .net passport info

A friend logged in to MSN Messenger and then into hotmail
on my computer. Now my user account at log on tells me I
have x number of unread messages relating to their
account. I have tried reassigning my .net passport but
nothing seems to stop this message. How can I get rid of
it.

There are two things you can try. First, install TweakXP.
There's a setting that lets you get rid of that "unread
email" dialog at the logon screen. Also to change
the .Net passport, you need to go into the control panel,
user accounts, click on the account, and select change
passport. It will let you change your .Net email account.

Sheila,

Click Start, Run and enter CONTROL USERPASSWORDS2 Go to the Advanced tab
and select Manage Passwords

I have the same problem. I tried deleting as well as
reassigning the .net passport using the CONTROL
USERPASSWORDS2 suggestion. It worked ok but I still get
the same message at the welcome screen saying I have x
number of unread messages. Is there anyway to get rid of
this? The strange thing is that I don't even have any
unread messages anymore since I already read them.
