win xp sp2 upgrade

I have a problem when I try to download win xp sp2. Either by microsoft
website or by the sp 2 cd. I always get a service pack 2 set up error. access
is denied. It starts to install and gets about half way thruogh when this
error comes up. Also when i look on the instilation page it has win xp sp2
failed with the error code 80070005.Any suggestions?
 
Please give us better information about your computer (make, model, memory,
cpu, version of XP).
 
Win xp home ed. sp1,amd athlon xp 2000+ processor(1.66 ghz), 256 mb ram, 40
gig hd. I built the system myself all the hardware and drivers check out ok
with microsoft
