I just downloaded it and installed it and so far so good.

Since SP2 RC1 is totally unsupported, be very careful if you decide to
install:

I installed XP SP 2, then about a week later XP SP2 RC1, works great for me.

I keep getting the error "Generic Host Process Server encountered an error and must close", "send error message", yes, "additional information", yes, "Microsoft is aware of the problem". So I had it installed and now I don't. YMMV.
