Win XP repair problems

John Morrison

I have a Dell desktop with Win XP Pro and a 120 GB hard drive that is
partitioned C through K. I've been trying to do a repair but keep getting
stuck at the install to the 120 GB Partition1 or create a new partition
option. I just got off the phone with Dell and fellow said that they don't
support partitions but that he thought the partitions would be lost if I
continued with either option.

I'd sure appreciate any suggestions,

Thanks,

John

Hi John,

Why are you trying to repair? The message sounds like the recovery disks is
not recognizing the partitions.

You need at least one partition before you can install XP, so Dell's
statement that they do not support partitions is faulse. They may not
support multiple partitions.

If the computer came with multiple partitions. They must support it.

Unless it no longer under warranty
