Win XP Pro SP1 backup

I have a requirement to backup my PC to multiple DVD
disks to be prepared for Disaster Recovery.
My PC is Dell Pentium4, running Win XP Pro SP1. It has a
built-in Philips DVD+RW-DO1 drive. The hard disk is an 80
GB size, containing at present about 20GB combined OS,
Apps, and Data.

The PowerQuest Drive Image 7 website datasheet does not
specifically say whether it will work with SP1 of the Win
XP OS. Can anyone please verify whether it can be used
for the above requirement?

Cant ask Powerquest, no contact response!

If you brought drive image 7 ???

Then you would know that it would work.

What a stupid question to ask.

I use Drive Image 7.0 on my system that has a Pentium 4 and Win XP Pro with
SP-1. It has two hard drives and I back up two volumes on one of the drives
(C & D) to a volume on the other drive. It works great, and I'd highly
recommend the product. However, I can't vouch about how it works backing-up
to CD-R or whatever, as I've never tried that. The quality of Drive Image
7.0 is so impressive, at least to me, that I'd assume the whole thing works
well.

(taking foot out of mouth).

I really should have read you're post properly before jumping in.
You will be able to use it to do what you want.
One thing though it (drive image) will take a lot longer to backup to DVD
than it would take to backup to HD.

Thanks for your reply. It seems your backup arrangement to another hard drive might be something I will try later

Thanks for the reassurance. I wanted the backup to span multiple (2) media volumes, i.e. 2 x DVD disks, for the amount of data I have to back up

As I backup to HD I have not tried the backup to removable media but as
Drive Image backs up to to cd-rw/dvd writers etc etc all you should have to
do is to sellect that you want to back up to the dvd writer and drive image
should do the rest IE: now that the data is going to take more than one dvd
disk and as such span the backup.
