Win XP Pro Logon Failure

Chris

I previously had a newtork setup on my notebook for a
business network. I wanted to set up a home network using
my notebook and desk computers. I ran the network wizard
on the notebook (running XP Pro), after I rebooted I have
not been able to logon. I have no idea what user id and
password the system is looking for. I've tried logging on
in safe mode. I get the normal logon window asking for
user id and password. Administrator doesn't work as the
user id. I'm so stuck... Helppppp

Networking isn't my thing beyond the limited small networks with which I've
worked. My guess is, having been formerly set up for a business network,
your may have left your notebook set to log on to a domain and unless you
are using server software on your home network, you have no domain or domain
doesn't apply.

You might get a better response to this question on the windowsxp.network
board.
