Win XP Log Off Problem

When I log off I get box saying END PROGRAM - OUTLOOK.EXE
followed by message that program is not responding. Only
way to log off is to wait for additionl prompts and end a
phantom task. Task manager shows no open applications but
does show over 25 open processes running. Do not know if
this is normal and afraid to terminate processes. XP has
worked fine for two weeks then this problem came out of
the blue. Installed AOL instant messenger AIM right
before problem started. My ISP is Comcast and the only
applications I have installed are Comcast, HP Printer,
Adobe Acrobat, and AIM. I can log off successfully if I
do not open Outlook. ?????

Hi Dave,

This edit automatically ends tasks and timeouts that prevent programs from
shutting down and clears the Paging File on Exit.
