Win XP Licenses Issue

Hi All,

We have 12 HP XW4200 workstations and we are all equipped with XP pro
licences, and as we are in a tight schedule and we got too many stations to
maintain. We made a generic image of one unit, meaning we configure and
install XP pro + our own applications onto one workstation and made a backup
image (w/ norton ghost) and we recover the image on the rest of the
workstations. Later we found that these workstations are recorded with cd
key of the first workstation. Are we voliating licensing issues? Note that
we have XP pro licences for all the workstations.

If you have a Volume License, no. If you have an OEM license, yes.

Thanks,

Just another query,

Volume licences means they will give u a set of licences? or only one
licence.

There are several VL programs, but the general idea is that you purchase
anywhere from "5 to thousands" of licenses, and then MS provides you with one
(1) Volume License Key for your product. You can use this key on every
system (that you purchased a license for) that is installed using the VL
media.
