win xp, KB873339 won't install

For some reason, I can't install the security update for windows xp:
KB873339.
I tried to install it manually by downloading the package and saving it to
my desktop. But when I run it, it returns the following message:
"Setup cannot copy the file update_SP2QFE.inf"
This is very strange. I located the file and checked its properties; it's
not Read Only or Hidden. So I don't know how to fix this problem.
Somebody please help me.
