Win XP IE6 Freeze

My IE 6 Freezes almost every time I click on it. I've
downloaded it again in hopes of fixing the problem but to
no avail. I get a message saying that it has encounterd a
problem and has to close and asks me to tell microsoft
about this problem and to send a report. I have sent so
many and nothing has come of it. What can I do? My
computer has become useless until this problem is
resolved. Please help.
