Win XP Error 10010 causing grief !

Guest

I only have access to dial-up in my rural dwelling. Frequently when
connected, my PC freezes and attempts to kill non-responding applications
doesn't work no matter how I try. Only a power-down restores the PC to
normal.

I have the latest XP updates, tons of memory, virus & ad-ware scans
regularly etc.

The Event viewer shows error with DCOM, error 10010. "The server did not
register with DCOM within the required timeout".

Can someone offer assistance to help me get rid of this recurring problem?

Thanks!!

The DCOM error 10010 could be caused by anything and it may or may not
have anything to do with your problems. The first thing to do to
attempt to solve DCOM 10010 errors is to identify the GUID, once
identified you can then try to address the problem. The guid is a
string of letters and numbers that will look something like this:

F3A614DC-ABE0-11D2-A441-00C04F795683

Copy the GUID then search the registry and find out which application is
causing the DCOM error. If you want additional help in the newsgroup
copy and paste the Event Error here and someone may be able to offer
more help. To copy the event click on the little icon that looks like
two pages of paper.
