Does WIN XP have a web server analogous to the Internet
Information Server 4 that is a feature of WIN NT 4? Or if
IIS4 came with my FrontPage 2000 (my memory is hazy about
what application produced IIS4) will my Frontpage 2000
work identically with XP as it does with WIN NT4 and will
IIS4 also work identically?

IIS comes with XP Professional, although it's not installed
automatically. It doesn't come with XP Home; you'll need a
third-pary solution if you have XP Home.

As far as its working identically to IIS4, since it's a newer
version, I assume it has enhanced capabilies. But since I don't
personally use it, I can't give you any specific information.

Richard:

Win XP Pro includes IIS v5.1, Win XP Home does not include it.

I use FPage 2000 with IIS v.51 without problems.

IIS comes with XP Pro (install at Add/Remove Programs, click Windows
components on the left)

It explicitly is not provided or supported in XP Home - it is an
exclusive to Pro item

Hi Ken,

Thanks greatly for your useful response.
