Win Mail send/receive button won't work.

Windows Mail opens and checks accounts, receiving email OK But if the send /
receive button is pushed I get an error message that it failed. If I use the
"send all" or the "receive all" it will work. It won't check mail on a time
basis either, but will send mail. It appears that the error message instantly
pops up so maybe it won't release? Also the "you have new email" icon is
always on the task bar.
 
That type of problem is often caused by interference from a non-
compatible antivirus program. Which antivirus are you running?
As a minimum, email scanning in the antivirus must be turned off,
although that may not be sufficient to eliminate all bad effects.
In a worst case scenario, your antivirus may need to be uninstalled.

If turning off the email scanning function does not resolve your problem,
consider upgrading to Windows Live Mail, because it is less prone to
suffering bad effects from overly aggressive antivirus programs.
