I installed a 1 gig stick drive on a Sony Vaio 512 Mb mem, Win XP SP2 .
My problem is it does't show the drive in Win. Explorer. In computer management it shows "Healthy,
Active", In device manager, "Running Ok, No Conflicts", In Command prompt, I type I: and I get I:\
then if I type Dir I get the I:\ drive and it's contents as I should. I copied a file to the stick
drive from another computer so I would know if it was working right earlier. Everything seems to be
working correctly. Anyone have any idea why it won't show up in Windows Explorer as a drive as the
rest of my drives do? Any help will be greatly appreciated and I thank you ahead of time for your
help.

In diskmgmt.msc L.click on the drive,then go to actions,all,select:make
active

I went to Actions > All Tasks > Make active, make active is not there, only Mark Partition as Active,
and is grayed out. The Drive, I left clicked on Shows UDisk 20x (I), 952 Mb Fat 32, Healthy (Active).
So it seems that the drive is active, But just won't show up in Win Express. I have tried all that I
know what to do and what I was told here. I can type in I:\ on win Explorer's address window and it
come up as it should and works as it should, but when I exit and come back it's not there, I have to
type it in each time I open Win Explorer. please help if you can.
