Win 98 Screensaver under Windows XP?

I have a screensaver that I used on Win 98 which I would like to use
on XP. I have installed it but it doesn't appear in the drop-down box
on the screensaver tab of Display properties.

If I right click on the screensaver icon in the Windows/system
directory, I can run, configure and test the screensaver.

How can I get it to appear in the selection list?

Peter,
You will need to copy the *.scr file from the W98 PC, and paste it to the following folder in the XP machine:
C:\Windows\System32

Then reboot PC. Be aware that the screensaver may appear slightly different in XP, than it was in W98.

Thanks for that, have tried copying the .scr file to Windows, or
Windows/system or windows/system32 and still it will not appear in the
drop down box to select it from Desktop properties

I forgot to add, after you paste the file into the C:\Windows\System folder. You will need to right click the file, and Select "INSTALL". Then Reboot PC. And the item should be there. Again remember that the graphics for screensaver, may appear different in XP. Also all W98 screensavers may not work in XP, especially those that are installed using an *.exe file.
