hi, hope anyone can help me out...

i have a Win98SE w/s that serves as a file server, complete with rights and
privileges settings, it works well with other Win98SE clients... here's where
my problem is, WinXP clients cannot access shared folders that has a
password!!! but there is no problem if the folders doesn't have a password...

i don't have a domain, it's just a workgroup... i have already disabled the
firewall too.

any thoughts? thanks in advance...

Check your password policy in XP.
Open Control Panel\Administrative Tools\Local Security Policy\
Account Policies\Password Policy, and double click to change:
Enforce Password History to 0.
Maximum Password Age to 0
Minimum Password Age to 0
Minimum Password Length to 3 Characters.
Password must meet complexity, Disable.
Store Password using reversible.. Disable.
