On upgrading to Windows 2000, I am unable to connect to my broad band modem. Error 711 RAS apprears. How to correct please. I am stuck for more than two days without solution. After visiting FAQs also, I am not getting the proper directions for corrections.

Sounds like you may have had remnants of the Blaster Worm residing on
your
previous OS.

MS knowledge base article 329441 has identified error 711 as a Service
Pack 1 issue and Remote Access Connection Manager (RASMAN) not starting.
Read up on that and try the MS fix. If that don't work, try this:

Run: regedit
Select folders in the following order:
-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
-SYSTEM
-Current Control Set
-Services
-RasMan
-PPP
-EAP
-when you get to this point, you should see 4 folders (numbered 4, 13,
25, 26)
-DELETE: folders 25 and 26
-Restart your computer.
