Win 2000 Memory Loss

Barry

Hello,

I'm running Windows 2000 Service Pack 4 on an IBM ThinkPad
T21 with 256MB installed RAM and have recently noticed
serious performance degradation. My OS tells me that the
total physical memory is only 130MB. Can anyone please
tell me why? Thanks,

Barry

One of your two memory sticks went bad, or came loose.
Open up your laptop and check the memory slots.

It's also (less) possible you have just one 256MB memory
stick installed, and that it's gone bad or is loose.

I see that with Sony VIAO laptops alot..

shotty memory controllers.... have to remove and reseat the sticks several
times for them to recognise all the capacity.
