Win 2000 machine reboots during tape backup

Since installing a new hard disc - Deskstar 123GB
following a HD failure - I have been unable to complete a
tape backup using Tapeware or Windows Backup with a
Certance 40GB tapedrive. Worked perfectly well before the
new hard disc - now reboots about 50% through the backup.

I have checked connections and operation of both the hard
disc and the tape drive using the manufacturers own
utlitiies - both are reported as problem free. The
problem persists. Machine has Athlon with award bios -
motherboard by AOpen. 512K ram

Any ideas?

Any help much appreciated.

I think you mean 512 MB of RAM or 512K Cache. Anyways, have you tried
uninstalling the Certance tapedrive and its software and reinstalling
it? Also, is this new harddrive a SCSI, high RPM, or how did you end up
with 123 GB. Also, how exactly did you copy your data from your old HD
to the new one? Did you clean install or did you use software that came
with the new drive?
