WIN 2000 install only sees 132 Gig of 200 Gig drives....

Doing new install on Dell T500 with two new Western Digital WD2000BB IDE
Hard drives. During install Win2K onlys sees 132 Gig of the drives. I made a
10 Gig partition and installed no hiccup. Figured I'd just use the disk
administrator to make one additional 390 Gig drive (letter) from the
reamaining 190 gig and the second 200 Gig... But the disk admin utility only
sees 132 Gig unsed of each drive as well. In fact it reports 132Gig unused
on the first drive still (even with the 10 Gig boot partition) as well as
the second drive...

Am I fighting a WIN 200 limitation or system BIOS? I.E. do serivce packs
help, do I stop and do all service packs, then go to add partitions after?

If WIN 2K limitation would going to XP Pro eliminate it?

I'm just setting up a big puppy on my home LAN to be a repository for my
digital video recorder. So I'm not too concerned with the OS on it and have
XP avail if thats the easier route.

Thanks,
Mark

~DELL Sucks!~

Go to your hard drive manufacturer and get drivers and any updates for your
operating system. You will need those in order for your windows to see all
the space. The best thing for you is to download drivers and other updates
related to your hard drive and install those at setup, by using F6 key when
prompted.

Check with the drive controller manufacturer to see if there is a Windows
2000 driver that supports the drive size.
