I would imagine that the service would have to be disabled during the
installation. Which is the same as turning off the restore and turning it
back on.. deleting all previous restore points. If you are not needing to
USE System Restore (your system is working okay) then I suggest just
disabling/re-enabling and making a manual restore point and continuing on.
