Will Outlook 2003 allow Word 2002 as email editor?

Will Outlook 2003 allow Word 2002 as email editor? Use microsoft word as
email editor is ghosted out on the options tab. There is nothing on the
outlook 2003 home page warning of this incompatibility or under system
requirements showing word 2003 required.
 
Outlook typically requires Word to be at the same version as itself to work
 
If you do choose to fun a different version of Word than Outlook and set it
up as the email editor, you may run into some pretty funky issues such as
disappearing attachments, etc.
