Will Office 97 Run on Windows XP

Mark

I recently updated my computer operating system from
Windows ME to XP. I had Office 97 previously. I have the
CDs that came with the computer, but cannot find my
registration information/number.

1. First, will Office 97 work on Windows XP?

2. Second, is there a way to load the software without
the registration number? Where can I find the registation
number?

1. Yes it will and very well.

2. From Microsoft's webpage:

The CD Key is typically located on an orange or yellow
sticker on the back of the CD case, or it is listed in the
documentation that the product came with. Make sure that
you store the CD Key as carefully as you store the product
CD. The product cannot be reinstalled without both of
these items. To replace a CD Key or Product Key, you must
contact Microsoft Product Support Services.

To locate the appropriate phone number for your product,
visit the following Microsoft Web site:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=fh;EN-
US;CNTACTMS

Note When you contact Microsoft Product Support Services
for a replacement CD Key, you may have to pay a fee. You
must also provide proof of purchase or product
registration.
