Will DVD burner work with Belkin's USB 2.0 drive enclosure

I have several Belikin USB 2.0 Drive enclosures and want to see if I
can hook up an internal Pioneer DVD Burner DVR-A06 to this enclosure.

The 4x burner is $180(plus $20 rebate) for the internal and $250 for
the external.

Is the data thoroughput faster on the external DVR-A06? What are the
benefits of buying the external? Will I have any problems making it
myself?

I'm thinking of doing the same thing via ebay. There are
many NECs on there, already mated, by the seller, wityh an
external eclosure.

Did you have a specific drive in mind?
