SATA capable external USB 2.0 enclosures?

Anybody know where I can get an enclosure that has SATA
interface inside but still uses the standard USB 2.0 to
connect to the PC? Been doing web search and shopping
searches but finding only the familiar IDE-to-USB2.0
enclosures. Need to start getting SATA-to-USB2.0.

I've got about 7 external USB 2.0 enclosures. They work
fine but they all take IDE drives only. I'd like to start
buying SATA drives -- I will probably still need to get a
few more external enclosures for my setup.

BTW, no, using external SATA won't be feasible. All my
external connections are USB 2.0. I've got hubs and
external cables all USB 2.0. I also like the fact that USB
can be split by hubs whereas SATA needs one port per drive.
I'm also using cable lengths that are over 8 feet. Raw
high data transfer performance of SATA is not a concern in
my situation -- the 480Mbps USB 2.0 provides is more than
enough.

Thanks for any info and links you can provide.

These are available in the UK, so I imagine in any other populated
country they would be even more so.

Cute. Send me some links for what you've found so I can
check they match my requirements...

There's plenty of those available now.

Thanks for the link. I took a look but alas no cigar! :-(
Check out the photos on this page for that enclosure:

http://www.short-media.com/review.php?r=250&p=3

Clearly only a P-ATA (IDE) connector inside therefore only
accepts P-ATA drives. :-( I want to put an S-ATA drive
inside the enclosure and connect to the computer via USB2.0.

Thanks, I believe I've found a model that accepts SATA
drives. The model numbers with the "SASP" in the Metal Gear
Box models appear to the ones that accept SATA drives:

http://www.dealsonic.com/metalgearbox.html

They are at an addition 46% price premium over the others.
The description says it accepts SATA drive up to 500GB. I
wish they'd include a photo of the connector inside for me
just to be sure. :) It is tricky because there are quite a
few enclosures that have SATA on the outside but still only
take a PATA drive on the inside.

I'd like to put a new 750GB SATA Seagate in one but not sure
where the 500GB limit comes from. Maybe at the time they
wrote the marketing text for the enclosure, the maximum size
of 3.5" HDDs was 500GB and they hadn't tested above that
limit(?)
