Will black ink for a Lexmark work in a Deskjet?

I've got a deskjet 842c with empty cartridges, and son has a NOMI black
refill kit for a Lexmark z33 and others.

Is that ink ok to use in the black cartridge?

I guess the real question is, are Lexmark inks the same as HP Deskjet
inks?

And if I can find 10 - 20 ml supplies of colour ink, are they all
compatible?

I've read through some of the back articles on the variable quality of
inks, but haven't seen this question covered.

Thanks.

All inks are diffrent. The weight, color , pigments etc etc.. I
wouldnt recommend interchanging ink unless of course you are
absolutely desperate and the cartridge was about to be replaced and
you wanted to experiment, LOL

such as I have by filling a Lexmark cartridge with my bulk inks for my
I850 and it works great..

Diffrent viscosity etc, may cause ink to pour out or lay on too
heavily if its too thin... etc..

Its a gamble but if you are at the end of the life of the cartridge,
go for it.. if its not that old, then I would get the proper ink and
save yourself the risk of burning it out or clogging it.

At the cost of these lexmark cartridges, you could buy a nice lil
cannon wich is next to nothing to refill with proper inks and tanks
can be purchased that are made to refill.

good luck
