Program Information Page
UnexpectedWare - WCMDMGR.EXE
This file runs on system startup and checks for updates
to the multimedia "Web Driver" from Wild Tangent. This is
probably only required if you actually play online games
which use the Wild Tangent driver.
Their web site says...
"The WildTangent Web Driver is an advanced platform for
the development and distribution of retail quality,
versatile game content for the Internet. It utilizes the
powerful multimedia hardware features that ship with
every computer sold today, but until now, have been
inaccessible to Web developers."
We recommend finding the WildTangent icon in the control
panel and disabling the auto update feature. Most of the
Anti-Spyware vendors have labeled WildTangent as Spyware
or Adware.
You should read the WildTangent Privacy Statement and
you'll see what information they gather and share with
others.
If you're wondering where it came from it may have been
included with a recent update of AIM. When installing new
versions of AIM this component is included to support
multiplayer games. If you're not going to use AIM to play
games we recommend removing it.
