Wierd Save problem

Hi there

I've just received a call from a user with a very wierd excel problem.

When she saves a certain spreadsheet, then this spreadsheet produces a
backup file of itself with an xlk extension (Backup of Statement of Accounts
0506 Draft - Version1.xlk).

Has anybody ever had experience of this and know of anyway to stop this
happening? I have moved it's location to my local hard drive to see if it was
a network issue and the same happens.

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Hi All

Maybe a little searching before posting on here would help, but if anybody
else experiences the same issue, please do the following:

Click on File, Save As and then check on the general options (located under
tools), make sure that Always Create Backup is unchecked.

Ok, I am now officially a numpty!

Open the WB and click "Save As".

Click on "Tools"
Click on "General Options"

*UNCHECK* "Always Create Backup".
