wierd noises

i was trying to install a game from a cd, when the
computer froze and the machine started making strange
noises. It would make the loud whirring noise like the
one i get when i turn it on followed by a clicking sound.
this goes on and on until i turn it off.

i get a blue screen that says kernal_data_inpage_error

anyone know whats going on and what i should do?

Sounds like the hard drive has karked it....
I hope you did regular backups.
