I am trying to run a 95/98 program in windows xp and this
is the message i get when doing so. I've tried the
compatibilty wizard and still no luck. What the program is
are shareware versions of games that came with the
logitech wingman warrior, I'm trying to get tempest up an
runing for my wife to play ( her favorite game from child
hood !) Would I have any better luck with the full version
of tempest, or would it be more of the same ? I thought
about either formatting my cpu to run 95/98 or instslling
a program to run the older apps ( forgot the name of it ?)
What do you guys suggest ?

Have you tried installing off the CD in Compatibility Mode? You can do that
by going to Start/Run/Browse and locating the install.exe or setup.exe file
on the CD root, then right-clicking it and following the Compatibility
method.

As for a newer, compatible version, you might do a search on www.google.com
for the name of the game and see what you find.

If you do get it installed, before you run it, please check to see if there
are updates from the game creator's web site which might help you.

I finally got the program up and running, but not on my
desktop cpu. I pulled out the old 100 mhz laptop with 95
as the os and it finally is up and running for my wife to
play her tempest.

You sure are lucky! My old laptop a Toshiba
T-1600 (assembled in 1990) won't run anything
higher than 3.1. I remember playing Tempest,
Frogger, Lemmings, and those other old games
back then with it though. Fun times indeed! :)

Cheers,
Jimmy.
