I get the following message when I try to check my email by using Windows Mail:

The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'pop.windstream.net',
Server: 'pop.windstream.net', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No,
Socket Error: 10061, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

My ISP tells me it is a software problem and that I need to update my
Outlook Express software. How do I do this?

If you're running Vista, tell them that Outlook Express won't run under
Vista.

See if this information is up to date:

If that doesn't help, tell us what if any antivirus programs are on your
machine, and whether you have ever had a Norton or McAfee
antivirus program on that machine; interference from certain antivirus
is one of the more frequent causes of problems under Windows
Mail.
