Wide Screen Resolution

I am trialling Vista for a client, as the company are looking to upgrade
their pc's within next 3 months.

Having installed Vista on a Dell Dimension with a GeForce 6600 PCI-X
Graphics card (256 MB RAM onboard) and a Viewsonic VA1912w monitor the
highest display setting I can get is 1360x768.

I have tried the Microsoft Vista and the card manufacturer for the latest
drivers, but still get the same results. The monitor displays a nag stating
the for the optimal resolution the display should be set at 1400x900, and
under XP, I had the setting at 1600.

The current display looks so chunky, like 640x480 on a 14" monitor. I have
tried using the default monitor to no avail.

Can anyone suggest a working solution.

Thanks

Steve

Sounds like a problem with the manufacturer's driver. Check with them and
inquire as to when their drivers will be fully compatible with Vista. Vista
no longer supports generic video drivers for all their brands and as such
most companies need more time to bring their drivers up to speed.
