I am new here, so forgive me if I'm duplicating a thread. I have a new
all-on-one printer and have tried to install it several times, even
downloading the manufacturers installation, only to continuously get
"missin wiafbdrv.dll file". I searched for the file so many times, my
fingers are sore. I found sites that offered free download, and
downloaded one at a time, trying to get the install program to find it
to no avail.

If I continue the install, the pinter works, but I can't fax, scan or
copy. I need help. I have been at this for four solid days. Thanks.

Have you tried uninstalling your printer drivers then rebooting and
reinstalling your printer drivers? When you reinstall your drivers, make
certain that your printer in on and connected.

If you've downloaded the file, you need to register it in the Windows
Registry.

1. Start | Run | cmd
2. CD [FOLDER WHERE YOU PUT wiafbdrv.dll file]. Try putting it in folder
where Printer stuff was installed
3. regsvr32 wiafbdrv.dll

You should get a Succeed Message Box.
If so, reboot and try. You should be OK.

NewScience,

That will work if it is an activex dll. If it is a standard dll written in
C, it won't register. It doesn't need to. So the registration would fail.

That is why I recommended uninstalling rebooting and reinstalling.
Uninstalling will remove the files and any registration entries. When
installers install, if the files are present, alot of the times it will skip
them and the registration phase. This person could have more problems than
that one file.

I agree, but if it is not an ActiveX control DLL, all that will happen is
that it will tell you that it does not have a DLL registry entry point and
do nothing.
