WIA Timeout

G

Graham

Good-day

Currently,I am running Windows XP Professional and
everytime I access 'My Computer', I have to wait for a
while before the list of drives etc are displayed. The
following error is occuring in the system log (in event
viewer) everytime this occurs:
The server {A1F4E726-8CF1-11D1-BF92-0060081ED811} did not
register with DCOM within the required timeout.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

The details from the Microsoft says that you should Check
that the application is configured properly.

The item(A1F4E726-8CF1-11D1-BF92-0060081ED811) that it is
complaining about is Windows Image Acquisition (WIA).
This service is already started.

I should also mention that when you open up the WIA
service in the Services list it gives you the following
error when you select the 'Dependencies' tab:
"Interface: Class not registered"

I would appreciate it if someone could assist me with
resolving this issue.

Regards

Graham

I have had a look at this, however, I do not have any
devices attached. Furthermore, I have stopped the service
and restarted (Service is set to Manual). The problem still
occurs.
