Why is it that we must purchase an extra product key for
windows xp upgrade after so many uses. To me that is
just trying to cheat us out of money that we spent for
it. Espically we you are selling it at 16 dollars less
than if i were to buy a brand new one. I would
understand if the price was only $20.00-$30.00 dollars
that to me seems more reasonable. Plus why is it not
advertised on the package when sold.
Can some one please make since of this.

Jay,
The retail XP upgrade can be reinstalled on one system at a time as often as
you want using the same CD key. If you got a message that you have exceeded
the number of times XP can be installed, follow the on screen prompts and
chose to activate by phone. The wording is confusing, but does not mean you
have to purchase another key.

What _are_ you on about?

There's no limit to the number of times you can reinstall and
activate the same WinXP license on the same PC. If it's been more
than 120 days since you last activated that specific Product Key,
you'll most likely be able to activate via the Internet without
problem. If it's been less, you might have to make a 5 minute phone
call.

Now, if you're trying to use the same license on multiple
computers simultaneously, then you must purchase a license for each
computer. This, of course, is nothing new, nor is it limited to
WinXP.
