Why would a process run under another username at bootup?

When I start windows XP on my laptop and log in to my own user account,
checking running processes I find that msimn.exe (Outlook express) is
already running under my girlfrieds login account.

This is annoying as it's then impossible for me tun run outlook express
without first killing that process.

So answers on a postcard please (Or preferably via email or news) as to
how to prevent that process starting up at boot. I've tried most things
I can think of, but have got nowhere.

I think I may have solved my problem so I'll tell anyone reading this
after a websearch on similar problems!

I read on one of the sites that there are potential problems with the
way certain virus protection products interact with outlook express. So
I disabled mail checking in Avast, and find today I had no problem on a
clean boot up.

Hopefully that's it the problem solved!

Nope false alarm. It seemed to fix it for one reboot, but today
msimn.exe is back there again under Kerrys login ID. Oh well it's
hardly difficult to kill it. It would be nice to know some logical
reason it is there though!
